Hey girls! Today I decided to begin a scrapbook for ya'll. I'm going to put pictures, and stories about you as you grow.
At this writing there are 4 of you but tomorrow there will be 5 of you! That's right. Uncle Brandon and Aunt Tiffany are going to the hospital to have little Addison born. It will be a wonderful day!
I want to tell you about some of the things going on in the world today.
Laptop computers, cell phones with texting and pictures and internet access are all the rage as well as mp3 players, HD television sets and dvd players. (Blue Ray is up and coming). On the internet, Facebook and Twitter are the really big social sites to hang out at. My Space has been but is loosing its edge. And people love to blog about themselves!
The President of the United States is Barack Obama. He is the first black president ever! I am very excited about our new president and the hope he has brought back into our country. I am a huge Obama fan!
Going Green is a major part of our society. We just haven't quite got there. We still drive petroleum cars, but there are a few hybrids out there.
We are in a bad recession right now but personally your papa and I have not been real affected.
We are at war in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Your papa and I are very much in love, always have been, and we absolutely adore each one of you! We live in Archer City where we are serving Papa's first church. He is a local pastor right now but has been in school for several years to become an ordained elder in the Methodist Church. He is so smart and so very caring of people and very much loved by many. He is one of the most honest men I have ever met. He loves to garden, but not just any ole kind of gardening. It's organic or nothing! He also has a small worm farm, very small really as they are in the drawer of an old dresser. His dream is to own some land to "raise" worms for composting and soil. He harvests rain water. I love this about him but the many containers lined up on my back porch are a source of angst. Here i live in a nice home with a swimming pool in the backyard and he clutters the ambiance with containers full of rainwater.
Me, well let's see. It's hard to talk about yourself. I love taking care of your papa and all you girls and your mom's and dads. Family is big with me. I would do just about anything in the world for any one of you. I come by this honestly because my mom, your great grandma (Nanny) is the same way. "It's just what you do", she says. I love people and helping papa at church. I do a lot of teaching at church and would love to further my education in that area, but now is not the right time. There isn't a lot i do outside of the home right now because i am involved in raising a couple of you. LOL Just seems i'm always involved with my kids somehow and don't have time for much more than that and God. But in the past I have loved doing pottery, jigsaw puzzles and gardening. My favorite t.v. shows are Heroes, American Idol and Medium. I love just about any kind of movie.
For now I will close this writing. It's time to think about what we may have for supper. As i think of more things to add to this particular post, I will.
Remember always,
Nana loves you!
